About
Mediahuis
Founded in 2014, Mediahuis has grown through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, establishing itself as one of the leading media and publishing groups in Europe. Its operations span across Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany and Luxembourg, with ownership of numerous prominent newspapers, digital platforms, and magazines such as 'De Standaard', 'Het Nieuwsblad', 'De Telegraaf', 'Irish Independent' and 'WAZ'.
The company's business model is built around both traditional print media and a diverse suite of digital offerings, including digital news subscriptions, multimedia content, and digital advertising. This dual approach allows Mediahuis to adapt to shifts in how people consume news, blending in-depth reporting with digital innovation to stay relevant in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
USE CASE
With Mediahuis nearing the completion of its migration from Universal Analytics to GA4, the next step was to onboard over 200 users - comprising editors and marketers - across five countries onto the new reporting platform.
Stitchd was chosen as the training partner for our hands-on approach and proven experience with similar training initiatives. We conducted a series of webinars in a virtual classroom format to familiarise users with the new interface and data model. Following this, we provided tailored support by developing role-specific reporting templates and creating how-to videos, which were made accessible via Mediahuis’s central documentation repository.
Key points
Self-assessment questionnaire
To ensure everyone was prepared for the webinar, participants completed a self-assessment questionnaire to determine their experience level in digital analytics. This allowed us to set up two tailored GA4 training sessions: one for those with prior knowledge of Universal analytics and another for participants without any prior experience.
Focus on what matters most
We focused on making GA4’s interface and metrics accessible and actionable for every participant, regardless of their analytics background.
Role-specific enablement
After the training, each participant gained access to a library containing the slide decks, session recordings, and a series of role-specific FAQ videos and report templates. This ensures they are now fully equipped to make smarter, data-driven decisions using GA4 and it enables Mediahuis to quickly onboard new employees to the GA4 set-up.
